Seattle Sounders vs Whitecaps Betting Tips & Predictions

Seattle Sounders have been one of the few teams in the opening stages of the new MLS season that have seemed lifeless. Even the other losing teams have had some interest about them as they slump to humiliating defeats or go gung-ho and get outscored, but Seattle Sounders’ opening two matches have been rather boring affairs.

Their opening match saw them slump to a 1-0 defeat at home to Sporting Kansas City, and last week Real Salt Lake dispatched of them 2-1, coming from a goal behind to snatch a late winner. This makes them winless in their first four matches of the season, with two MLS defeats and a draw and a loss in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Whitecaps haven’t started the season any better than their hosts though. They have also lost both of their opening matches, with Canadian rivals Montreal Impact beating them 3-2 in the opening game and Sporting Kansas City getting a 2-1 win over them thanks to two first half goals from Dwyer.

There is one positive for both these teams though: At least one of them will come away from this game with their first points on the board in the new MLS season.

Whitecaps have performed better than their hosts in the opening two games, and their status as MLS Western Conference runners up last season wasn’t an accident. They definitely have the capability to get a result on Sunday morning.

Seattle Sounders have looked like they are lacking fight at the moment, so I think Whitecaps can get at them early on and take something away from this game. Odds of 5/6 for a Whitecaps Win or Draw Double Chance look very good value. I’m going for a 2-1 win for the visitors at 11/1 as well.
