Sevilla vs Juventus Predictions
Sevilla have lost all of their matches in this competition since beating Borussia Monchengladbach at home on the opening day and cannot make the knock-out stages but they do still have a chance of pinching 3rd place from the Germans and returning to the Europa League, a tournament that they have won in each of the last 2 seasons.
To have a chance of achieving that they will have to win this match though so they have no reason not to go for this. Although Sevilla aren’t having a great season and are only 10th in La Liga, they have still been strong at home. They have won their last 5 home games in Spain with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Valencia among their victims so they have proven they are still capable of beating top sides of which Juventus certainly are.
The Italian Champions have found some form in Serie A after a sluggish start and come into this game on the back of 5 straight wins in all competitions. They need a result here to ensure they win the group and secure seeding in the draw for the knock-out stage.
Sevilla would dearly love to get back into the Europa League and earn another shot at winning a competition that they like to think of as their own given their recent successes in it. They will be going all out for the win here and there do tend to be goals whenever they are involved.
There have been 3 or more goals in 4 of their 5 matches in the Champions League this term and in 8 of their 9 home matches in all competitions. Therefore odds of 11/10 for a repeat here look really tempting.
The Andalucians will be a bit disappointed with their showing in this competition and will be determined to go out with a flourish. Juventus haven’t been brilliant either but have managed to grind out results but if Sevilla are at their best, they could come unstuck here and a 2-1 home win looks good value at 17/2.
