      Sevilla vs Real Betis Predictions

The 1st leg at the Estadio Benito Villamarín last week was a predictably feisty affair despite both sides making a few changes for the game. It was the visitors who were the dominant side though with Martin Krohn-Dehli’s lively run and finish giving them the lead before Gregorz Krychowiak poked home from a corner to give Sevilla a 2-0 advantage to take into the 2nd leg across town in Nervion.

Despite Ruben Castro missing a penalty for the hosts, Sevilla could easily have won by more goals and even if they rotate their squad a little here, they are likely to be too strong for their city rivals once more.

Real Betis are in a desperate run of form and have failed to score in any of their last 5 matches and have lost their last 4. Since Alvaro Cejudo scored at Sporting Gijon in the last round of this competition, Betis have let in 11 goals without reply and the pressure is mounting on Coach Pepe Mel.

Sevilla by contrast are heading in the right direction after a slow start to the season and were 2-0 winners at the weekend at home to Athletic Bilbao. That was their 7th straight home win and all of the last 6 have been to nil. Most of those games have been against much stronger sides than Real Betis and therefore backing another Sevilla win to nil at 21/20 looks a really appealing bet.

Were this not a local derby, Unai Emery might have been tempted to rest almost his  entire starting eleven but the Sevilla fans would never forgive them if they threw this away so we should still see quite a strong Sevilla side here. At 11/2 you can back them to repeat the scoreline from the 1st Leg and also secure what would be 5th consecutive 2-0 win at home.
