Sevilla looking for bragging rights

Sevilla have a fantastic record in recent years in the Derbi Sevillano, losing to Real Betis in just one of the last dozen meetings, six of which they have won.

García Pimienta’s side will fancy their chances of extending that run too, given they head into this fixture on the back of successive victories on home soil, against Getafe (1-0) and Real Valladolid (2-1).

Results elsewhere have not been so good, and as such they sit in the bottom half of the table ahead of this round, but they have at least won six of their last 11 league fixtures at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan (L5).

Betis struggling on the road

Real Betis may therefore not be too confident of picking up a derby day victory, especially as they are without a win in their last four away fixtures, losing twice.

One of those was a disappointing 1-0 reverse against Legia Warsaw in the Conference League in midweek, while they have failed to score in three of those outings.

Indeed, when factoring in all venues, Manuel Pellegrini’s side have only managed one win from the last four attempts, and that was against struggling Espanyol.
