After a 1-0 defeat to Celje last week, Shamrock Rovers have work to do if they want to progress in the Europa League.

Stephen Bradley’s side are fifth in the Irish Premier Division, but they are treading water as the fixture list piles up, winning just one of their last six matches.

Celje used their win over Shamrock as a platform to go and beat Radomlje 4-2 in the Slovenian PrvaLiga, and those in attendance should be in for an entertaining evening.

Celje are winless in two on the road, failing to score in both of those ties. However, those defeats came against Slovan Bratislava in Champions League qualifying and to Muram, who are second in the Slovenian PrvaLiga.

Thursday’s tie will be an easier challenge for Albert Riera’s men, but their lack of consistency on the road means the value lies in the draw.
