A mammoth task for Shamrock Rovers

After being defeated handily by Ludogorets in the first leg back in Bulgaria, Shamrock Rovers enter the second home leg as overwhelming outsiders to overturn the deficit to qualify for the semi-final. 

To put it into perspective, Shamrock would have to score at least three goals while keeping a clean sheet if they are to even force extra time in this encounter, something they have not done across their last ten competitive clashes, against domestic opponents of lower calibre than Ludogorets to boot.

It’s all about game management

Ludogorets head into this one knowing that they simply must not be humiliated and they will move to within two steps of the Champions League group stage. They also won the first leg in the last round and went on to win the away leg 1-0 thereafter, so perhaps attempting to score first and then seeing the game out will be the way this one goes.

None since Levski Sofia back in April have defeated Ludogorets in a competitive game since April and we predict that this streak will continue with a small stake prediction on a 1-0 away win.

As for the main prediction, we are sticking with under 2.5 total goals as Ludogorets simply need to manage the game in order to qualify, any unnecessary risks will likely be avoided this time around.
