Sheffield Wednesday vs Rotherham Betting Tips and Predictions

Sheffield Wednesday are in the hunt for a long awaited return to the Premier League. They are in 6th place coming into this game but have just stuttered a touch over the past 3 games, none of which have resulted in victory. A 1-0 defeat at Preston and draws against QPR and Hull mean they could desperately do with 3 points here otherwise they risk losing their place in the top six.

Rotherham only have one thing on their mind and that is survival. They gave themselves a massive boost last weekend with a 2-1 win at home to Brentford, their first victory in 8 matches and first under Neil Warnock. They were in danger of getting cut adrift prior to that but those 3 points leave them only 3 points behind MK Dons who are just outside the drop-zone. A win for Rotherham would lift them out of the bottom 3 if the Dons lose their match.

This game had the feel of a massive banana skin for Wednesday and their promotion bid even before Rotherham’s win last weekend. The Millers have a habit of causing an upset at Hillsborough and haven’t lost at the ground since September 1981. They have won on 3 of their 4 league visits since then and also won a League Cup tie on penalties in 2008. Throw into the mix the fact that they are fighting for their lives and that they are now managed by former Blades boss Neil Warnock and all the ingredients are there are for a potential shock.
