Swindon chase fifth straight win

Swindon are in good form and look set to continue their run away at Shrewsbury on Saturday. Ian Holloway’s side can secure another win at Greenhous Meadow against Gavin Cowan’s hosts.

Swindon are second in the league, with 18 wins, four draws and nine losses, while Shrewsbury are 21st, having won six and lost 16 of their 30 games this season.

Swindon maintained their winning habit with a 2-0 victory over Newport in their last League Two game on Wednesday. Fletcher Holman opened the scoring on 63 minutes, and Swindon, who have now won nine of the ten matches in which they have been odds-on this season, comfortably obliged for favourite backers.

Swindon are going for a fifth successive League Two win and have momentum on their side at the moment.

Their attack looks far more potent than Shrewsbury’s. The hosts have been disappointing in front of goal at home this season, scoring just 13 goals in 15 home games, while Swindon have scored in 15 of their last 17 league matches.

Swindon have kept three straight clean sheets in League Two.

A 2-0 away win for Swindon looks a decent correct-score option. Four of Shrewsbury’s last six League Two matches have produced under 2.5 goals and four of Swindon’s 18 victories this term have been by a 2-0 scoreline.
