Sparta Prague vs Schalke Betting Tips

Sparta Prague suffered defeat at Viktoria Plzen in the Czech Liga on Sunday, allowing their closest title rivals to eliminate the points difference between the sides to zero points.

Sparta Prague still top the table on goal difference, but this loss will have been a disappointment as they looked to extend their lead in the Czech Liga to six points after 12 matches.

This brought an end to Sparta Prague’s five match unbeaten streak. They had won four of these five matches, with their 2-2 draw at Schalke a few weeks ago being the only time they failed to win.

This was a very impressive result for the Czechs, who fell behind to an early goal at Schalke but managed to take the lead before letting a late equaliser in.

This ended Schalke’s impressive run of results. Before this match they had won seven of their previous eight games, losing once.

But the draw against Sparta Prague seems to have dented their confidence, and they are currently on a four match winless streak in which they have lost twice.

This has seen them slip to 4^th position in the Bundesliga with a return of 20 points from their opening 11 games, and they will be hoping to get back to form as soon as possible to avoid slipping further.

In the Europa League they still top Group J with their seven points, but a loss on Thursday would see Sparta Prague leapfrog them into the top spot. But a win for Schalke would extend their lead at the top to at least four points.

The last match ended 2-2 between these sides, and I’m thinking both teams will find the net again on Thursday. Schalke have seen both teams score in four of their last five games, whilst in the less competitive Czech Liga Sparta Prague have had both teams net in three of their last five games.

Odds of 4/6 for Both Teams to Score look attractive as well, and I’m thinking that a correct score prediction of 2-1 to Sparta Prague looks good at 8/1 as well.
