Sporting Lisbon and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Sporting have been the best team in Portugal this season, winning 12 of their 15 Primeira Liga matches, and should be too strong for ninth-placed Estoril, who they have beaten in their last four meetings. However, the visitors have recently scored against Porto and Braga and boast enough attacking talent to land a blow in defeat.

Sporting Lisbon 3-1

Reason for tip

Four of Estoril’s last five Primeira Liga games have gone over 3.5 goals and another high-scoring affair should be expected, with both sides finding the net just as has been the case in six of Sporting’s last nine home matches.

Sporting Lisbon vs Estoril Predictions

  • Sporting have won 12 of their last 13 home matches
  • Both teams have scored in five of Lisbon’s last seven games
  • Estoril have netted 20 goals in their last eight fixtures, including four in two matches against Porto in that run

Lisbon can prevail in lively encounter

Sporting Lisbon are leading the way in the Primeira Liga this term having taken 37 points from a possible 45 available to them this term, and they should add another three to that tally on Friday.

Their home form has been exceptional, winning 12 of their 13 matches at Estadio Jose Alvalade this season with their only defeat in that run coming against Serie A giants Atalanta in the Europa League.

They have been victorious their last four meetings with Estoril and should once again be too strong for their visitors, who have won only one of their eight Primeira Liga away matches this term.

Expect Estoril to land a blow

However, whilst Sporting are going well, they have shown weakness at the back all season, conceding 16 goals in their 15 league games – six more than second-placed Benfica and five more than third-placed Porto.

Estoril have found a goalscoring groove of late, netting 20 times in their last eight games in a run which has included two wins over Porto, and they look likely to score against the league leaders, even in defeat.

Both teams have scored in six of Sporting’s last nine home matches and the same outcome looks likely alongside three points for the hosts.
