Sporting Lisbon may well need to be perfect from now until the end of the season if they are to break into the top three, and even that may not be enough as they trail third placed Braga by four points with just nine left to play for.

The Lisbon outfit take on Maritimo on Saturday and the visitors are in desperate need of the points themselves. Maritimo sit third from bottom in the standings in the relegation play-off position, just three points above automatic relegation and five adrift of safety.

Maritimo may have won the reverse fixture but with home advantage it is hard to see Sporting slipping up and a 4-1 win for the hosts is the correct score prediction. Sporting hit four against Pacos Ferreira last time out, and Maritimo will have to push forward over the course of the game regardless of the scoreline as only a win will do for the visitors as well and that could well open the floodgates.
