Sporting set for more success in Primeira Liga

Sporting Lisbon had to settle for fourth spot in Portugal’s Primeira Liga last season but they have looked like they mean business this campaign.

Their four matches in the league this term have yielded three wins and a draw, putting them level on points with fellow pacesetters Boavista and Porto.

It was a pretty busy summer for the capital club, who saw Pedro Porro leave permanently, Manuel Ugarte leave for Paris Saint-Germain and Youssef Chermiti move to Everton.

But they have spent the money well, bringing Francisco Trincao to the club on a permanent basis, bulking up their midfield with the signing of Morten Hjulmand and signing Viktor Gyokeres from Coventry.

Gyokeres now forms part of a decent attacking trifecta along with Paulinho and Pedro Goncalves and Sporting should come out on top against Moreirense.

That said, Moreirense have looked lively despite their mediocre start, scoring twice against Braga last time out but conceding in the 96th minute to lose 3-2.

They also scored in defeat against Porto last month and a bet on Sporting to win and both teams to score looks worthwhile, while 2-1 is a solid correct score prediction.
