      St Mirren vs Kilmarnock Predictions

      • St Mirren has scored an average of 1.4 goals in their last five games at home.
      • Kilmarnock has failed to score in four of their last five away matches and has conceded at least once in their last six.
      • The visitors come into this game having scored just 0.4 goals in their last five away matches.

Buddies fail to find consistency at home

St Mirren’s Christmas celebrations were tainted with a narrow 2-1 defeat to current league leaders Celtic on Boxing Day, as the Buddie’s late goal wasn’t enough to see them snatch a point of the reigning champions.

The Paisley outfit struggles to perform on home turf, as they have picked up just a single point in their last four matches in a 3-3 thriller with Livingston. Despite not getting the results they want, St Mirren still causes damage to opposing teams, scoring at least once in five of their last six home games, although they have conceded an average of 1.2 goals, which increases to 2.5 times in their four most recent games.

Killie fail to convert chances on the road

Kilmarnock picked up their fifth defeat from their last six games on the road on Thursday, as the Ayrshire club lost 1-0 to Rangers at Kilmarnock in what was their first away game without Angelo Alessio in charge.

The Rugby Park outfit has done poorly to get a grip on their away games and have failed even more so upfront where they’ve failed to produce a goal in four of their last five games. Moreover, Killie’s also not doing well at the back, letting in at least one goal in their previous six games and conceding at least twice in three of those last six.

      Buddies to take the points

Whilst the visitors are better positioned in the league, it’s hard to deny the fact that they’re currently in a slump that has only been made worse after the sacking of Angelo Alessio. The hosts, although not winning many, have managed to score at least once in five of their last six home ties, netting 1.4 goals on average in their last five. We’re backing St Mirren to narrowly win 1-0 here as Killie has failed to cause teams trouble on the road and have scored just 0.4 goals in their last five outings.
