Stuttgart vs Hamburger Betting Tips

Stuttgart managed to win their first game back after the Bundesliga winter break last weekend when they beat Cologne 3-1 away from home.

This made it three competitive wins in a row for Stuttgart, and if you take their winter friendlies into account they have won four of their last five.

But their early season poor form is still haunting them. They are in a perilous 15^th position in the Bundesliga, level on points with relegation playoff occupiers Werder Bremen and four points above the drop zone.

Hamburger sit four positions higher than the hosts with four more points so far, but they are in much worse form than Stuttgart coming into this game.

They have lost three of their last four competitive games and lost all three of their winter friendlies during the off season.

Hamburger did manage to take advantage of Stuttgart’s poor form earlier in the season when they beat them 3-2 at home, but that was the first time they had beaten Stuttgart since 2013, with Hamburger losing three of their four meetings between those two wins.

Stuttgart have managed to beat Wolfsburg and Cologne in their last two Bundesliga matches, and their friedly wins will have kept the confidence within the squad going as well. Hamburger, on the other hand, will be bereft of all confidence after their dismal losing streak even managed to work it’s way into the friendly results.

This makes the home side the favourites in my book, and I think odds of 19/20 for a Stuttgart Win are very good value considering Hamburger’s losing record recently. I’m going to put some money on that along with a 2-1 correct score prediction at 15/2.
