Stuttgart vs Schalke Predictions
Stuttgart have started the season in horrendous form. They struggled through against Holstein Kiel in their DFP Pokal opener, but have since embarked on a four match losing streak in the Bundesliga.
They have managed to score in all of their matches, but defensively they’ve been dreadful, conceding 12 goals in their opening four games and leaving them second from bottom in the Bundesliga with zero points.
They were hoping to improve upon last season’s narrow avoidance from relegation, but at the moment it doesn’t look like they’ll be able to do that.
Schalke aren’t in the best of form, but they are doing a decent job in the opening stages of the Bundesliga this season.
They have won against Werder Bremen and Mainz, both by a 3-0 scoreline. They were disappointing in their 1-1 draw against Darmstadt, and a 3-0 loss to Wolfsburg wasn’t a huge surprise.
They kicked off their Europa League campaign in midweek as well, with a 3-0 victory away at APOEL giving them a positive start in Europe.
Schalke have also won in three of the last four meetings between these sides, and all of the last eight games between them have ended with over 2.5 goals.
Stuttgart have seen three or more goals in all of their competitive games so far this season, whilst Schalke have only been involved in an under 2.5 goal match once. This makes a number of markets look pretty attractive, with Over 2.5 Goals coming in at 3/5, Both Teams to Score at 1/2, and the two coupled at 5/6.
These all look to provide a good amount of value, but a Schalke win at 6/4 looks even better, and if you make it Schalke to Win and Over 2.5 Goals it comes in at a huge 13/5. These all look good value for money, but I think the best value is to be found in Over 2.5 goals at 3/5, and a correct score prediction of 3-1 Schalke at 18/1.
