Stalemate in Stuttgart?

Stuttgart and Wolfsburg clash at Mercedes-Benz-Arena on Wednesday with Wolfsburg need to win to keep pace in the race for Champions League football next season.

Stuttgart have been in indifferent form in recent weeks which could be down to a lack of anything to play for in the remainder of the season. They’ve been scoring goals during this period, with seven in their last six but their defence has been leaky conceding 10 during the same period.

Wolfsburg had been in decent form, winning five in six games but they’ve lost their last two matches leaving their qualification to next seasons Champions League in doubt. They still hold a seven point lead over fifth placed, Leverkusen but will need to steady the ship to maintain their place in the top four.

This match could be quite a dour affair with neither side really impressing in recent matches and this could lead to a lack of quality. We think the added motivation in the Wolfsburg camp gives them the edge though and we’re backing them to pick up the victory in a 2-1 win.
