Sunderland vs QPR Predictions

Both teams can strike on Wearside

Back both teams to get on the scoresheet when Sunderland take on QPR at the Stadium of Light in the Championship on Saturday. Both sides have scored in 28 of QPR’s 45 league matches this season.

Sunderland, who have booked a play-off spot, are fourth in the Championship, 11 places and 23 points above QPR. The hosts have won 21 of their 45 games this season, while the visitors have just 13 wins and are ending the campaign with manager Marti Cifuentes placed on gardening leave amid interest from West Brom.

Sunderland have lost two home games in a row, but they have avoided defeat in six of their last seven Championship games against QPR.

Both teams are struggling defensively. Sunderland have failed to keep a clean sheet in seven of their last nine home games, while QPR have conceded in each of their last nine away matches and have gone five straight games without a clean sheet.

The visitors were 2-1 winners over Preston two weeks ago and, with six of QPR’s 13 wins this season coming via a 2-1 scoreline, the same outcome looks a decent correct-score bet. Sunderland have lost out by the odd goal in three of their last four Championship matches and managerless Rangers look a big price to win in a game where the hosts could be forgiven for having two eyes on the upcoming play-offs.
