Swansea vs Chelsea Predictions
Swansea look all but clear of the relegation battle after their flirt with the drop zone earlier in the season. The appointment of Francesco Guidolin has revived the faltering squad and they have finally started to string together some impressive results.
The return of Gylfi Sigurdsson to form cannot be overstated for Swansea. He is the driving force behind all their attacking play and has helped them on their way to three wins and one draw in their last five outings in the Premier League. This puts them up in 15th position in the Premier League, a comfortable looking ten points clear of the relegation positions.
They have even started showing some real fighting spirit in recent weeks, which was evident as they came from two goals behind at the Britannia Stadium last weekend to draw the game 2-2. A few months ago that sort of comeback would have been unthinkable.
Chelsea’s second half of the season has been much better than their first half as well. Their 4-0 thrashing of Aston Villa last weekend extended Guus Hiddink’s unbeaten streak in the Premier League to 14 matches, although the Russian has still been overlooked for a permanent placement at Stamford Bridge in favour of Antonio Conte.
Both teams’ success can be attributed in no small degree to a vast improvement in attacking display. Swansea have score in each of their last six matches and have only failed to net in one of their last 14 games. Chelsea have only failed to find the net in one of their Premier League matches since Hiddink took over, and both teams have scored in five of their last six league outings.
I can’t see either side keeping a clean sheet on Saturday, and odds of 10/11 for Both Teams to Score look good value for money. I think Swansea can get something from the visitors as well, and a 2-2 correct score prediction comes in at a hefty 16/1.
