Sweden superb under Andersson

Greece held on for a superb 2-1 home win when they met Sweden in September, but it will be much tougher for them to get a good result when they face off again in Solna.

Under Janne Andersson, Sweden have become one of the most consistent home performers in World Cup qualifying and deserve their odds-on tag for this. The Blue and Yellow still have a 100 per cent record from eight previous games in a period that stretches back to 2016 and includes notable wins over Italy and Spain.

Greece are regular scorers away from home

Greece are as yet undefeated away in Group B after earning draws away to Spain and Kosovo while beating Georgia in their own patch last Saturday. Their improved away displays in Nations League action last year also add some peril to a pro-Sweden bet here, so we will look elsewhere.

Both teams to score offers a good return here given it was only last month that they both found the back of each others net. That was the fourth straight game it landed in a Greece qualifier while Sweden have seen both teams score in two of their last three matches.

This figures to be a close game in our eyes and, based on that outstanding home record, one in which me must favour Sweden to edge by 2-1.  Greece have scored in their last nine away internationals, but they only managed more than one strike in four of those.
