Sweden Women vs Belgium Women Predictions

  • Sweden have won 12 of their last 14 games, going unbeaten throughout and only failing to beat Italy and the Netherlands.
  • The Swedes have seen over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last nine games, including both of their last two.
  • Belgium, meanwhile, have scored in four consecutive matches, while six of their last nine contests have seen a minimum of three goals.

Swedes gunning for England date

Having edged out the Netherlands to top Group C by virtue of their superior goal difference after a 5-0 thrashing of Portugal, Peter Gerhardsson’s Sweden are targeting a second consecutive semi-final appearance at a major tournament. They appear strong favourites to achieve that when they face a Belgium side ranked 19th in the world, some 17 places below the 2020 Olympic silver medallists.

Sweden have gone unbeaten through their last 14 games, including friendlies, winning 12 and only failing to beat Italy and the Netherlands. The Swedes’ attacking quality makes them favourites to book a last-four date with England; they’ve seen over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last nine games, scoring 37 times in that spell and hammering Portugal last time out.

Belgium, meanwhile, did well to progress from a tight Group D, snatching a win over Italy in Manchester to seal their first ever knockout appearance at the Women’s Euros, and have made all of their recent encounters competitive. Ives Serneels’ team have seen a minimum of three goals scored in each of their last four games and in six of their last nine, including a narrow 2-1 loss to France.

Sweden can edge entertaining affair

With Sweden in fine form and there being little value in simply backing them for a win, punters are advised to add over 2.5 goals into the mix, given the attacking strength provided by Stina Blackstenius, Filippa Angeldahl and others.

Meanwhile, Belgium’s campaign to date suggests they might land a blow, with Sweden conceding in four of their last five games, making a 3-1 win of Gerhardsson’s team a solid correct score prediction.
