Hangover for Tenerife?

After narrowly missing out on promotion to La Liga last season, Tenerife have had a poor start to the 2022/23 campaign, although their sole win of the campaign did come on home soil.

Luis Miguel Ramis’ side have in fact lost just three of their last nine fixtures at Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López, where they are unbeaten this season and picked up 32 points last year.

And although they generally don’t have a great head-to-head record with Malaga, they have suffered only two home defeats to them in nine meetings.

Malaga have started poorly

If you think Tenerife have had a bad start to the campaign, it’s even worse for Malaga, who have suffered four defeats in their five matches.

That only carries over their form from last season, when the Andalusian outfit finished above the relegation zone by only two points, losing 19 of their 42 matches.

Pablo Guede’s side have in fact lost half a dozen times in nine recent away fixtures, winning just five times in 28 outings since April 2021.

I predict that Tenerife will win this game, with 1-0 to the hosts my correct score prediction.
