Tondela vs Pacos Ferreira Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Tondela will be unsure of what to expect from a Pacos Ferreira side under the charge of new boss César Peixoto and it could enable the visitors to stun their hosts on Saturday.

Pacos Ferreira parted company with Jorge Simao after last week’s 1-0 defeat at Gil Vicente left them without a win in eight games. Simao had been unable to get the club back to anything like the form they enjoyed when they finished fifth under Pepa last season.

Ex-Porto defender Peixoto is much less experienced, but has the kind of charisma and charm that can provide an instant impact even if it may not last that long. His first fixture is not a bad one with Tondela currently in possession of one of the worst defensive records in the Primeira.

Ayesteran’s side shipped five last weekend

Pako Ayesteran’s side have shipped 28 goals from their 13 total league games and half of those have come in their last five outings. The defensive failings were very evident last week when CDT Auriverdes conceded five times in the space of 56 minutes at Vitoria Guimaraes.

Their home record is also a bit shabby with three defeats in their last five, albeit all against clubs in the current top six. But given Pacos have won their last four against Tondela and could get a new coach bounce, the value here must be in the visitors to avoid defeat by way of the double chance market.

The Beavers have scored in four of their last five away trips, but never more than once, so the best prospect of them winning this would seem to be by the slenderest of margins. Tondela rarely fail to score though, so with their suspect defensive record, our correct score forecast here is for a 2-1 away win.
