      Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea Predictions

Tottenham Hotspur lost their opening Premier League game of the season as Manchester United secured a narrow 1-0 victory over them.

But since then they haven’t suffered a league defeat. They have lost in the League Cup to Arsenal and in the Europa League to Anderlecht, but their league form has been excellent, winning six and drawing six of their last 12 matches.

Their overall form is looking even better recently. Spurs have won five of their last six games in all competitions, with only a 1-1 draw at the Emirates marring their record.

This upturn in winning ways is largely thanks to the return to form of Harry Kane, who has netted seven in his last four after a slow start to the season. Spurs have scored 16 goals in their last six games in all competitions.

This has seen them close the gap on the top four of the Premier League, and they now sit in 5th position just two points adrift of Arsenal and Manchester City in 4th and 3rd respectively.

Chelsea’s faint hopes of a top four finish are slowly ebbing away. They are all the way down in 15th position in the Premier League having collected just 14 points from their opening 13 games; ten fewer than their opponents.

They have won three of their last four games in all competitions though, although they have been against Dynamo Kiev, Norwich, and Maccabi Tel Aviv. Not exactly Spurs quality opponents.

Chelsea’s main issues have been defensively this season, with an ageing back four lacking pace and being paired with inexperienced, defensively poor full backs.

This sounds like a dream to an in form Spurs attack, and I think odds of 5/4 for Spurs Over 1.5 Team Goals look really good value considering they have scored at least two goals in four of their last five home matches. I’m also backing a 3-1 win for them at 20/1.
