Lille can raid Toulouse

Lille have made a strong start to the season as they opened up with a 2-0 win at Angers before claiming a 2-2 draw with the defending champions, leading 2-0 going into injury time before PSG staged a fightback.

Toulouse have endured a tougher start as they lost 2-0 at home to Lyon before a 2-2 draw at Brest, conceding a late equaliser themselves in that stalemate.

Lille have dominated this fixture in recent seasons as they have won each of the last four meetings between these sides and won the two games last season by an aggregate score of 6-1.

The visitors are capable of taking the points but Toulouse have enough quality to get on the scoresheet and keep the game fairly close. A 2-1 win for Les Dogues stands out, as Lille have scored exactly twice in both of their games so far and Toulouse looked fairly sharp in attack against Brest so they can strike in defeat.

Olivier Giroud has one goal for the season for Lille and he provided assists for both of their goals against PSG. The veteran forward had a couple of chances himself against the Parisians, and he can get back among the goals with an anytime effort for the visitors on Thursday.
