      Tip Reasoning

Tranmere Rovers sit safely in 10th place in the table with no worries of relegation however their form has dipped massively recently meaning they are struggling to keep up with the pace the teams in the play-off positions are setting as they now sit 8 points adrift thanks to three consecutive league defeats.

Stevenage have enjoyed a much better spell of recent form, winning three of their last four league games picking up nine points from a possible 12.This has catapulted them into 9th place in the table, five clear of this weekend’s opponents and just three points behind Exeter City in seventh and MK Dons in sixth.

Tranmere have been fairly decent on home soil this season only succumbing to defeat on three occasions. Two of these however were in the last two outings at Prenton Park, losing 2-1 to Swindon and Northampton respectively. This has made it three losses on the bounce at home as the game before that they got thrashed 7-0 at the hand of Tottenham Hotspur, a result that really seems to have drained their confidence.

Stevenage have been middle of the road away from home this season ranking 11th in the away table with five wins, three draws and seven losses from their 15 away fixtures. They have lost just twice in their last five away trips, winning two and drawing the other.

Tranmere have the league’s top scorer in their ranks with James Norwood having scored 19 goals this season, three more than anyone else. He seems to have re-discovered his golden touch in front of goal as he found the net in three of his last four League Two outings after netting in just one of his previous five. Any positive result here you feel would be reliant on his performance this weekend.

Tranmere have been priced odds on favourites here and its a price we just can’t get on with when they have lost their last three league matches and their last two at home, both to sides lower than Stevenage in the table. For that reason we think the away side will get something from this game and shall be backing them on the Double Chance market. The last two away wins for Stevenage have both been by a 2-1 scoreline and the last two home defeats for Tranmere have been by the same 2-1 scoreline. For that reason we are backing Stevenage to win this game 2-1.
