Eredivisie action returns to Enschede

Following a seemingly unending break, the Eredivisie returns with a clash between European hopefuls Twente and relegation-threatened FC Emmen.

It is the hosts that enter this clash in superior form with a five-game unbeaten run, and with the most experienced current manager in the Eredivisie in Ron Jans, it would perhaps be foolish to back against them in this home encounter.

Emmen have typically been good value to get on the scoresheet away from home this season in spite of their awful travelling league record (W1, L6). However, they face the Eredivisie’s meanest defence here in Enschede and will likely struggle to penetrate their imperious backline that has kept 20 clean sheets since the start of 2021/22.

Back the hosts to dominate

FC Twente are motoring along nicely with a higher points total than at this stage of any of their last eight Eredivisie campaigns, and with just nine goals conceded in 14 league games so far, it’s difficult to make a case against them.
