Champions to claim another win

Napoli look set to continue their good form away at Udinese on Sunday. There is a gulf between the teams in the league table, with Napoli possessing a clear edge over Kosta Runjaic’s side.

Napoli are second in Serie A, nine places and 13 points above Udinese, with ten wins, one draw and three losses from their 14 games. The hosts are in 11th place, having won five, drawn three and lost six.

They maintained their winning run last weekend, beating Juventus 2-1 to bring the visitors’ five-game unbeaten run in Serie A to an end. Napoli have won nine of the ten games in which they’ve scored first this season (90%) and have opened the scoring in their last three games.

The hosts look vulnerable at the back. Udinese have conceded in ten of their last 12 home games in the league and have shipped 12 goals already this season, an average of 1.71 per game from seven matches.

The home side are enduring a difficult run of results, with Udinese having lost four times in their last six Serie A games.

Napoli are in good form, having won five of their last seven matches in Serie A. They are going for a fourth successive league title and have lost just one of their last 21 meetings with Udinese. In contrast, Udinese have been beaten in their last two home games in the league.

They can edge this, with a 1-0 correct score in favour of the visitors looking like a decent bet. Three of Napoli’s ten wins in the league this season have been by a 1-0 scoreline and they have won two of their last three Serie A road games 1-0.
