- Stadion An der Alten Försterei
- Union Berlin have lost only one of their 14 home league games, eight of which ended as draws
- Stuttgart have lost only two of their last eight league games
- Four of the last five meetings between this pair have ended as draws
A point apiece looks likely
Only one point splits Union Berlin and Stuttgart in the race for the Bundesliga’s European spots and there could be little to separate them this weekend, with the draw the value call.
Union are particularly strong at home and they have lost only one of their 14 league fixtures in the capital this season, with their sole defeat coming on the opening weekend of the season against Augsburg.
Since then, Union have gone undefeated at home and have held Bayern Munich,
Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolfsburg and Borussia Monchengladbach, while recording wins over Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.
Urs Fischer’s men are extremely difficult to beat and they also claimed a point on their trip to league leaders Bayern last weekend, one of 13 draws for them this season.
Union have shared the spoils in eight of their 14 matches at home and another stalemate looks likely against Stuttgart, who have also drawn nine of their 28 contests this term.
The visitors have lost only two of their last eight league games – against Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund – and they are also a tough team to topple.
Four of the last five meetings between this pair have ended level and it was 2-2 when these teams locked horns at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in December.
We predict a similar scenario, with 1-1 the scoreline of preference – eight of Union’s 13 league games have finished that way.
