Villarreal to Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

The visitors are unbeaten so far this season and no side has both conceded and scored more goals in La Liga in this campaign than Villarreal. The Yellow Submarine should prevail and plenty of goals could also be in store at the Mestalla.

Villarreal 2-1

Reason for tip

Villarreal have scored at least twice in each of their three La Liga matches this season however they are also yet to keep a clean sheet. Valencia have netted in two of their three league fixtures and could find the scoresheet again in defeat.

Valencia vs Villarreal Predictions

  • Valencia have lost all three La Liga matches this season
  • Villarreal are unbeaten across their opening three league fixtures
  • The hosts ran out 3-1 winners in this encounter last season

Yellow Submarine can further host’s woes

Valencia have had a difficult time of things as of late and their fortunes could get worse before they get better when they host a Villarreal side that are yet to be beaten this season.

Los Ches have not registered a La Liga victory at their Mestrella home since a 1-0 win over Getafe back in March – a run of six matches in front of their own fans – and they have lost all three of their league fixtures this season, against Barcelona (2-1), Celta Vigo (3-1) and Athletic Bilbao (1-0).

Villarreal meanwhile have won two of their opening three matches – including a thrilling 4-3 victory over Celta Vigo last time out – and their quality in front of goal has been particularly impressive, with no side scoring more goals in La Liga than their eight so far.

The Yellow Submarine’s form should see them prevail with three points, however they may also continue poor defensive record on Saturday. No side has conceded more goals than Villarreal’s six which should give Valencia hope of getting on the scoresheet and a 2-1 victory for the visitors therefore looks a tempting prospect.
