Wales vs Mexico Predictions
- Wales have scored one goal or fewer in eight of their last nine matches.
- The Dragons have never beaten Mexico, failing to score in each of the last two meetings.
- Mexico have only lost one of their last 22 games.
Mexican delight in Cardiff
Wales saw their five-match unbeaten run ended on Wednesday, but there was no disgrace in their performance, as they were beaten 3-1 away in Belgium in their opening World Cup qualifier.
The Dragons will be back in competitive action when they face the Czech Republic next week and with this summer’s European Championships to prepare for, Saturday’s friendly will take on extra significance.
One area that Wales will need to improve on is their lack of goals, as they have scored one goal or fewer in eight of their last nine matches.
Robert Page’s side have also failed to score in each of their last two meetings with Mexico, while they have never been able to beat their North American opponents in four previous clashes.
Mexico have not been in action since November, but they are currently on an impressive run of form, as they have only lost one of their last 22 matches – a sequence that stretches back over two years.
That sole defeat came against Argentina in November 2019, but since that loss Mexico have picked up nine wins and a draw from their 10 matches.
El Tri have never played on Welsh soil, but with so many of their squad based in Europe, there should be no worries about them adapting and we are predicting the visitors to emerge victorious on Saturday.
Indeed, we predict Mexico will win the match to nil, given Wales’ recent lack of goals both in general and in recent meetings between the two nations.
