Waterford United vs Cork City Predictions

• Cork’s three games on the road this term have yielded three defeats, no goals and ten conceded
• Four of Waterford’s five matches have been under 2.5 goals this season

It has been a bizarre week for Waterford, with a game called off due to a Coronavirus scare and the club doctor resigning, but they can end it with a victory in the Munster Derby over Cork City.

John Sheridan’s first game in charge was a winning one as the Blues held out for a deserved win at Tolka Park against Shelbourne, the form working out well when their victims beat Finn Harps since. Moreover, with the Sligo game called off, Waterford come here fresh.

The Blues look good enough to beat Cork City, given they have already registered wins over Shelbourne and St Patrick’s (both away) as well as Derry City, all of those comfortably superior to Cork.

The Rebels are in big trouble and they have yet to score on the road. They showed a good spirit against Bohs but created next to nothing and they will surely struggle again here.

Given Cork have failed to score in all five of their defeats this season and only one of Watford’s games went over 2.5 goals a 2-0 home win could be on the cards.
