Watford vs Barnsley Predictions
- Watford have lost just one of their 12 home league games this season, winning nine.
- The Hornets have won two of their three Championship matches since the arrival of new manager Xisco Munoz.
- Barnsley have lost two of their last three away trips and six from 12 overall this term.
Hornets Difficult to Oppose at Vicarage Road
Watford bagged their ninth home win of the campaign against Huddersfield Town on Saturday and the Hornets are taken to follow-up when they play host to Barnsley on Tuesday evening.
Goals from Tom Cleverley and Joao Pedro sealed another routine success for Watford at Vicarage Road to keep themselves firmly in the promotion mix and the result cancelled out their disappointing 2-0 away defeat against the Terriers last month.
With just two wins from 11 on their travels, there are still huge question marks surrounding Watford’s inability to produce their best football on the road and they lost their first away game under the guidance of new boss Xisco Munoz at Swansea on 2nd January (2-1).
That result was no disgrace though considering the Swans are currently second and Watford’s weekend victory over the Terriers made it six points from nine since Xisco’s arrival at the club.
At around the 4/6 mark, Watford look a good bet to bolster their home record this week and solidify their top six position against a Barnsley side who have lost two of their last three away trips and six from 12 overall this season.
The Hornets have also kept clean sheets in three of their last four home starts while Barnsley have failed to net in two of their last three on the road, so we’re also forecasting a 2-0 correct score.
