Baggies to block Tractor Boys’ path

Ipswich have blazed a trail at the top of the Championship this season and their away form has played a crucial role in their success with the Tractor Boys yet to lose away from Portman Road.

However, their unbeaten run may come to an end on Saturday against an improving West Brom side who have won three of their last four league fixtures.

The Baggies have lost just once on home soil this season and they were too strong in a 3-1 defeat of highflying Hull recently.

It may prove too difficult  for them to completely shut out an Ipswich side who are the top scorers in the division with 36 goals, but the prediction is for them to edge what should be a lively encounter.

Ipswich haven’t won a league fixture at the Hawthorns since 1999, and although they look stronger now than they have for a long time, West Brom are fancied to extend their miserable sequence for the Suffolk side.

Goals have been easy to come by for Ipswich but they are also struggling to keep them out and they have conceded at least twice in each of their last five outings.

West Brom will fancy their chances of doing so too, and they are predicted to come out on top 2-1 in a top-quality contest.
