West Ham vs West Brom Predictions

West Ham have been pretty inconsistent so far this season. They have beaten the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City away from home in impressive fashion, but have seen their record marred by losses at home to Bournemouth and Leicester and away to Watford.

This is understandably frustrating to their fans, who will be baffled at how they can outclass Arsenal one week and lose to Bournemouth the next.

Dimitri Payet has been their main man this season, but a fairly serious ankle injury will see him sidelined until February. This is a massive blow for the Hammers, who have lost two of their last three games and drawn the other.

Their last outing was a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Spurs, and they have only won two of their six Premier League games at Upton Park this season.

This recent poor form has seen them slip to 6th position, with five points separating them from the top four.

West Brom sit down in 12th position with 17 points from their opening 13 games. A win could see them overtake as many as five teams and move into 7th.

West Brom put in a really good performance last weekend as they battled to a 2-1 win over Arsenal, although there was a bit of good fortune about their victory. Arsenal scored an own goal and missed a penalty.

This takes their record to three wins and two defeats in their last five matches in the Premier League, a decent record for a mid-table side.

West Ham have only won one of their last five meetings with West Brom, with two draws and two West Brom wins making up the rest of the results.

I don’t think the Hammers will get a win on Sunday either. They are missing a number of key attacking threats and come up against a typically tight Tony Pulis defence, so I think odds of 4/5 for a West Brom Win or Draw Double Chance are good value. I’m also backing a 0-0 draw at 15/2.
