Hertha’s misery may continue

Patience is wearing thin with Hertha Berlin and their miserable run may continue when they travel to take on one of the Bundesliga’s hottest properties in Wolfsburg.

Hertha showed distinct signs of progress last season but they have failed to deliver on that promise and after 22 games they find themselves only one point above the relegation places.

Pal Dardai’s side are winless in eight league games and despite the injection of big money from investor Lars Windhorst, their problems appear to go from bad to worse.

Hertha were brushed aside 3-0 at home to Leipzig last weekend, with them managing only three goals across their eight-game winless sequence.

And that may spell disaster at Wolfsburg, who boast the second best defensive record in the division with only 19 goals conceded in 22 matches.

Oliver Glasner’s side are up to third having lost only twice in 22 matches and they are only one of three teams in the Bundesliga yet to taste a home league defeat.

Wolfsburg have been defending resolutely with six straight clean sheets and seven of their 11 league wins this season were recorded to nil.
