Wolves vs Nottingham Forest Predictions
Both teams head into this fixture on the back of positive results. Forest cruised to a 3-0 home win against Fulham last weekend to move up to 14th in the division. It meant back-to-back victories for only the 2nd time this season after their 3-1 win the previous weekend against Reading and they’ve now won 3 of their last 4 matches after going 8 without a win prior to that.
Wolves were 2-1 winners at struggling Rotherham on Saturday to extend their unbeaten run to 4 matches but they’d only won 1 of their 8 games prior to their trip to South Yorkshire so it is far too early to talk about a return to the sort of form that fired them to 7th place and 78 points last season.
Just 1 point and 1 place separates these two clubs so there is little to choose between them in the table and there may be little to choose between them in this match. Nottingham Forest have lost their last 4 away from the City Ground but had only lost once on the road all season prior to that and they should go into this one with more confidence following 3 successive wins on home soil.
Wolves haven’t won any of their last 4 matches at Molineux and have only scored 1 goal in those matches so that’s certainly a big concern for them coming into this. Given that record and the improvements Forest have been making the visitors look good value to bag a point at odds of 8/11.
It’s hard to see them having quite enough to win it outright though and this has all the makings of a close game so consider backing it to end in a 1-1 draw at 5/1.
