Wolves vs Reading Predictions
These are bleak times for Wolves and the pressure is building on manager Kenny Jackett with the club having won just 1 of their last 8 matches and finding themselves down in 17th place. Their last two results have been particularly bad and have highlighted their defensive problems. A 3-2 defeat at home to Leeds was followed up by a humiliating 4-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.
Wolves took the lead in both games and will be under pressure to do better here against a Reading side that are under new management. The returning Brian McDermott got his Second spell at Reading off to the perfect start with a 1-0 victory against Blackburn last weekend and it ended a damaging 4 game losing streak for the Royals.
The result did move them back into the top half though and they are only 4 points off the play-off positions so there is still plenty for Reading to play for and they’ll head into this game with confidence and perhaps a fair bit of a relief that their managerial saga is finally over.
We should see goals in this game. There have been 5 goals in the last two matches involving Wolves and both teams have scored in all of their last 4. Neither side are completely secure at the back but in Benik Afobe and Nick Blackman, two of the division’s top scorers will be on display and therefore odds of 23/20 for there to be over 2.5 goals in this one look really good value.
There isn’t much to like about Wolves right now and they are too easy to break down so a Reading side that has been boosted by the return of McDermott could do a job on them here and for a correct score bet with big potential returns consider backing Reading to win 3-1 at a huge 22/1.
