Dortmund to secure top spot in Russia

Zenit’s 3-0 defeat at Club Brugge last week saw their hopes of finishing third in Champions League Group F die, with the Russian side now six points adrift of Brugge having not won a single game in the group stages.

They have lost four of these five matches and, looking back to last season, have lost seven of their last nine games in the Champions League.

This will come as good news to Borussia Dortmund, who head into the final round of the Group Stages top of the pile and knowing that a win would seal the top spot. Anything less, however, and Lazio could pip them to the posts thanks to their superior head-to-head record.

A win is expected for the visitors Germans though. They have won three of their last four in the competitions and have kept a clean sheet in all three of these victories. This includes back-to-back 3-0 defeats of Club Brugge and a 2-0 win at home to Zenit in October.
