Crystal Palace vs Wolverhampton predictions for Saturday’s Premier League tie at Selhurst Park. Wolves hope to continue their excellent run of Premier League form when they face the out of sorts Crystal Palace. Read on for all our free predictions and betting tips.

Reason For Crystal Palace vs Wolverhampton Betting Tips

Crystal Palace’s woes continued on Monday evening as they fell to a late defeat away to the impressive Bournemouth, although really The Eagles can have no complaints at losing that game. They were second best for most of the match, and they now face a difficult run of fixtures to try and get back to form.

Roy Hodgson has to prepare his squad to face Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, and Manchester United after this hosting of Wolves, but getting a result out of the newly promoted club could turn out to be just as difficult.

Palace opened their season with a victory over Fulham, but since then they haven’t looked the part. They lost a trio of games against Liverpool, Watford, and Southampton, before a narrow 1-0 defeat of Huddersfield. A dour goalless draw at home to Newcastle followed, and then their recent loss to Bournemouth.

Wolves, on the other hand, are enjoying a fantastic return to the Premier League. Admittedly, they did start out with a few less than perfect results as they drew with Everton and then lost in very unfortunate circumstances against Leicester.

However, since then it’s been a constant upward trend for the Midlands club. They took a point from the reigning Premier League champions Manchester City at Molineux and have since won three of their four matches, with their only dropped points coming in a very impressive 1-1 draw away to Manchester United.

Much was made of their attacking talents in the Championship last season, but it’s at the other end of the pitch where most of the magic is happening at the moment. Wolves have conceded just six goals in seven games this season, and four of those came in the first two weeks of the campaign. They have kept a clean sheet against West Ham, Burnley, and Southampton since the start of September, and now face a Crystal Palace side who are yet to score a league goal at Selhurst Park this term.

In fact, the Eagles have netted just five times in the Premier League this season, and with such a drought on home soil, you wouldn’t fancy their chances to get one past this stalwart Wolves defence. At the other end, they have conceded eight times, so we think backing a Wolves Win along with Wolves to Win to Nil and a 2-0 correct score predictions looks a great bet.

Head to Head

Crystal Palace have won three, drawn one, and lost two of their last six meetings with Wolves, although this will be the first meeting in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace Team News

Crystal Palace Team Badge Jairo Riedewald is a major doubt for Crystal Palace, although he should return to action soon. The same can't be said of Christian Benteke, Connor Wickham, and Scott Dann though, who all remain sidelined.

Wolverhampton Team News

Wolverhampton Team Badge Helder Costa is a slight doubt with a knock, but apart from that Wolves remain injury free.

Crystal Palace vs Wolverhampton Stats

  • If Crystal Palace fail to score, they will be the second team this season alone to fail to score in their opening four home Premier League games (after Huddersfield). This had only happened twice in the previous 119 English top-flight seasons combined before 2018-19 (West Brom in 1921-22 and Everton in 1998-99).
  • Wolves have won three of their last four Premier League games (D1) – as many as they had in their previous 39 in the top-flight (W3 D12 L24).
  • For Crystal Palace in the Premier League in 2018, only Wilfried Zaha (11) has been involved in more goals than Patrick van Aanholt (6 goals, 2 assists).
  • Wolves have scored a league-high 88% of their Premier League goals in the second half of games so far this season (7/8).
  • Although they haven’t scored in the Premier League at Selhurst Park this season, Crystal Palace have attempted 44 shots in home games, the same tally as Arsenal, who have scored seven goals.
  • Raúl Jiménez has been directly involved in 50% of Wolves’ eight Premier League goals so far this season (2 goals, 2 assists).
  • Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha scored twice and assisted another in his two previous league appearances against Wolves, both in the Championship in 2012-13.
  • Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson last managed against Wolves in February 2012, a 5-1 Premier League victory for West Brom in what proved to be the final match of Mick McCarthy’s reign as Wolves boss.
