      Huddersfield vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions

The fears over the potential for a classic case of second season syndrome at the John Smiths Stadium are turning out to be well founded concerns at the moment. Six games into the new Premier League season and Huddersfield find themselves without a win to their name, sitting rock bottom of the table and already having been eliminated from the Carabao Cup.

It wasn’t the easiest of starts to the campaign to be fair to the Terriers. They had to face Chelsea and Manchester City in their opening two games, although even with such illustrious opposition the fact that they conceded nine goals in just two games will still be a disappointment.

Their only points of the season so far have come from a goalless draw at home to Cardiff and a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park, with defeats to Crystal Palace and Leicester following them and a 2-0 loss at Stoke knocking them out of the EFL Cup. If David Wagner is to have any hope of staying in the Premier League this season, he’ll need to build some much needed confidence within the squad.

A result against Tottenham would certainly help morale, but the signs aren’t overly promising for the hosts. Spurs may look a depleted side when compared to last season, but they have still won four of their six outings in the Premier League so far and have beaten Newcastle, Manchester United, and Brighton away from home already.

Spurs have lost just two of their last 14 away games in the Premier League, winning nine of those in the process. Defensively they haven’t looked as sharp as they did last term, but they’re facing a Huddersfield side who look utterly hopeless going forward.

The Terriers have scored just three goals in the Premier League this season, and quite extraordinarily none of these have come at the John Smiths Stadium. In fact, Huddersfield have failed to score in each of their last five home games in the league, and have scored just one goal in their last eight Premier League outings there.

Even with Tottenham’s poor defensive record this season we fancy them to keep their hosts at bay, so we’re backing a Tottenham Win to Nil along with a 2-0 correct score predictions on Saturday.
