West Ham United to Win

Reason for tip

West Ham were thrashed 5-1 by Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Wednesday but they have won four of their last six games in the league and can see off inconsistent Manchester United at the London Stadium.

West Ham United 2-1

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in 13 of West Ham’s 17 league fixtures this term and, while they are a good bet to win, they may not have things all their own way, so back the Hammers to win this match 2-1.

West Ham United vs Manchester United Predictions

  • West Ham have won four of their last six Premier League matches
  • Both teams have scored in 13 of West Ham’s 17 league games this term
  • Manchester United have won just one of their last six matches in all competitions
  • Mohammed Kudus has bagged five league goals in the Premier League this season

Hammers look to bounce back from cup humiliation

West Ham were humiliated in a 5-1 defeat to Liverpool in Wednesday’s EFL Cup quarter-final at Anfield and David Moyes’s side will be after a response when they host Manchester United in the Premier League.

It will feel like a missed opportunity for Hammers fans, who looked as though they might prioritise cup competitions given their comfortable position in the league.

That defeat will not go down well with West Ham fans but looking at the bigger picture, it has been a decent couple of months for Moyes’s men.

The Londoners have won four of their last six games in the Premier League and that run featured a swashbuckling 3-0 win over Wolves last Sunday.

The Europa League knockout stage should be high on their list of priorities next year but they are not a million miles off the European places in the Premier League and have an incentive to push after a resurgent run.

Pressure mounts on Erik ten Hag

As for Manchester United, pressure continues to mount on manager Erik ten Hag after a run of three games without a win in all competitions.

Indeed, the Red Devils have won just one of their last six games in all competitions and even though the 0-0 draw with Liverpool was a respectable result, they were seriously outplayed at Anfield, losing the shot count 34-6 and seeing just 31 per cent of the ball.

United have struggled to even score in any of their last three matches and, although that may not be the case this time around, they are still worth opposing.

Kudus can guide West Ham to victory

West Ham can go into most of their games with little to lose right now, whereas the pressure is on at United, who seem to be in a downward spiral in all competitions.

As for a correct score bet, punters should consider 2-1 to the Hammers with both teams having scored in 13 of West Ham’s 17 league fixtures.

One player who could make their mark for West Ham is Mohammed Kudus.

Kudus failed to make an impact against Liverpool last time out but he scored two first-half goals in the recent win over Wolves, taking his league tally to five.

The summer signing was also on target in the 2-0 win over Freiburg at the London Stadium and he can make his mark on home soil again when Manchester United come to town.
