Premier League cards & corners predictions with 74/1 mega accumulator!

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

Sunday is a packed day in the Premier League, with no fewer than six matches from England’s top flight. While we have all of the action covered in our Premier League predictions, this is also the perfect chance to take a look at some forgotten markets.

Betting on cards and corners offers plenty of value, especially at this point in the season when we have plenty of numbers to run over. We’ve gone for a deep dive into the statistics to put together a 74/1 cards and corners mega accumulator.

74/1 Cards & corners mega accumulator

Chelsea vs Newcastle

Newcastle have picked up 33 yellow cards on their travels this season, which is the third-highest in the division. With the Magpies likely to see very little of the ball at Chelsea, expect them to add to that this weekend.

The Blues have one of the better disciplinary records in the division, only four teams have picked up fewer cards at home than Chelsea. With that in mind, back Newcastle with a -1 handicap in the card betting.

Tip: Newcastle -1 card

Everton vs Wolves

Everton have racked up 28 cards at home already this term – only two sides have seen more. The Toffees’ troubles appear to be getting worse, so I can’t imagine their discipline is about to improve.

Meanwhile, Wolves are no angels, having racked up 47 cards this season. However, their last seven games have seen their opponents rack up 20 cards, so I expect this clash to see at least four between these two sides.

Tip: Over 3.5 total cards

Leeds vs Norwich

This relegation six-pointer is huge for both sides, but it’s hard to side against a Leeds side who have a solid record at home to bottom-half sides. Meanwhile, Norwich have tended to struggle in almost every department on the road.

Among their issues is conceding too many corners, with the visitors conceding 7.15 per away trip. With the Whites’ fired up and aiming for three vital points in the fight for survival, back Leeds to rack up over six corners against the Canaries.

Tip: Over 6.5 Leeds corners

Southampton vs Watford

Southampton should enjoy a lot of possession against Watford, who have spent more time without the ball than all but two Premier League sides. The Hornets concede around possession typically per away game, so Southampton should outperform their usual average of 6.2 corners per game.

However, the hosts have seen 11.2 corners in total per game because of how many they concede, which should see Watford pick up a few corners of their own. The visitors average over four per game and that should tip this one past 10 total corners.

Tip: Over 10 total corners

West Ham vs Aston Villa

West Ham look to be struggling for form of late, while Aston Villa look energised. The Villains come into this one having won their last three, while they’ve pushed forward to score nine times in that run. Expect them to hit the ground running at a West Ham side who look jaded.

The visitors average 5.5 corners per game this term, so I think they should clear the 4.5 corners line available for them ahead of this trip.

Tip: Over 4.5 Aston Villa corners

Arsenal vs Leicester

Leicester may not be having the best season, but they do have the league’s best disciplinary record. The Foxes have picked up only 33 yellow cards this term, while they’ve received 20 cards across 12 league trips.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have picked up 40 cards in 25 league games, with just four shown to them across their last three matches. Those three games have also seen the Gunners’ opponents shown a single card each, so under 3.5 total cards rounds off our mega.

Tip: Under 3.5 total cards
