Saturday’s late Premier League clash sees Aston Villa chasing a return to the Premier League’s top four. The Villains have fallen to fifth after winning just one of their last five in the league, but they head to bottom side Sheffield United in the Saturday Night Football.

Chris Wilder’s return to Sheffield United hasn’t turned around their results, but it has made the Blades much more competitive. This was always going to be a tough season for the club, who have looked outmatched at this level early in the campaign.
While the Blades remain bottom, they head into this game having scored at least twice in five of their last six matches. However, they’ve only managed to win one of those, thanks to their defensive issues. With each of those five games also featuring over 3.5 goals, Bramall Lane hasn’t been short on entertainment.
Villa have scored twice or more in four of their last five league trips, so back plenty of goals in this encounter.
Ollie Watkins to score
Villa lost to Newcastle in midweek but Watkins did score in that defeat, taking him to 10 league goals for the season. He’s a great anytime goalscorer option ahead of a meeting with the worst defence in the Premier League.
Watkins had gone seven games without a goal before returning to form against Newcastle. However, he’s a player who tends to deliver in patches, so he should go on another impressive scoring run, continuing in Saturday’s clash.
Anel Ahmedhodzic to be carded
Ahmedhodzic is on seven bookings for the season already and the defender has picked up five of those at home. The Bosnian international commits far too many fouls and he heads into this one having seen a card in three straight league outings. With the defender set to deal with Ollie Watkins and Moussa Diaby in this contest, he’s a great option to be booked.
Boubacar Kamara to be carded
Aston Villa holding midfielder Kamara is level with Ahmedhodzic on seven bookings, but the majority of his cards have come on the road. Kamara does the heavy lifting defensively in midfield for Villa, which has seen him average 1.8 fouls per game in the league. His latest card came against Newcastle in midweek and with a return of four bookings and a red from nine away trips in the league he’s a good bet to end up in the referee’s notebook.
Ben Brereton 1+ shots on target
Brereton has been a great addition for Sheffield United, scoring in each of their last two Premier League games. His return to English football has seen the forward hit four shots on target across four appearances in all competitions, with three of those coming in his two Premier League showings.
Despite Villa’s great season, they remain a little questionable defensively. Brereton is in good form and this is a Sheffield United side who are creating chances under Wilder, so their new forward looks like great value to have a shot on target.
