Sunday’s showpiece clash at Wembley is being billed as master vs apprentice, which would make Thomas Tuchel the most experienced apprentice in history. The Chelsea boss followed in the footsteps of Jurgen Klopp early in his career, but he’s since led Chelsea to European glory.

Now Tuchel prepares for a fourth final in charge of the Blues despite being in charge for a little over 13 months. He’s yet to lift a domestic trophy as Chelsea boss, but then again neither has his opposite number.

With both managers desperate to add to their silverware laden CVs and with two clubs battling it out for the first trophy of the season, the stakes are high at Wembley. Given that, we’ve lined up a 112/1 tip for the showdown and you can back that below!

Carabao Cup Final Ultimate Bet Builder

Both teams to score

While many are anticipating a cagey clash between these two sides, their meetings this term have been quite entertaining. The last time the pair met, Chelsea rallied back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Stamford Bridge.

Both sides carry some good scoring form into this clash, given that the Blues have scored in 15 of their last 16 games, with only Manchester City keeping them at bay during that run. Liverpool are in fine form too, having scored in nine-straight matches. Back that scoring streak to continue on Sunday.

Mohamed Salah to score

Liverpool forward Mo Salah has punished his former side twice this season, scoring in both league clashes.

The Egyptian has impressed of late after taking some time to readjust after returning from international duty. Salah has scored in three straight games, so he’s a real threat coming into the EFL Cup final.

Andrew Robertson to make an assist

Liverpool have plenty of creative talents, but arguably none match the form of Robertson right now. While the full-back has yet to make an assist in this competition, he comes into this game having been a real creative force of late.

Robertson has made five of his 11 assists this season within his last six games. With Chelsea missing both of their first-choice full-backs, there should be an opportunity for Robertson to continue his great form.

Kai Havertz 2+ shots on target

While Romelu Lukaku was signed for £95million in the summer, it’s Kai Havertz who has inherited Didier Drogba’s mantle as the man for the big occasion. The German scored the crucial goal in the Champions League final, while he did the same in the Club World Cup earlier this month.

After scoring a vital opener against Lille in midweek, look to Havertz again as Chelsea face another crunch clash. The former Bayer Leverkusen man seems set to start in Lukaku’s place up top, which should see him get chances.

Havertz has had five shots on target across two Carabao Cup outings this term, so we’re backing him to have another two on Sunday as Chelsea’s frontman.

Liverpool over 5.5 corners

Liverpool have been dominant on their way to the final, averaging seven corners per game so far. They’ve been pretty consistent in the league too, with just shy of 70% of their Premier League games seeing them record at least six corners.

Liverpool should press forward against a Chelsea side who can frustrate in big games, so expect the Reds to have their share of corners this weekend. Given that, over 5.5 corners is my final selection in this ultimate bet builder.
