The race for the Championship winners medal is hotting up as only two points separate Norwich and Leeds. Sheffield United sit three points behind Leeds with a game in hand so its one of these three that look to be taking home that winners medal and a place in the top flight.

Norwich have only lost one of their last nine, Leeds have lost three in the same period whilst Sheffield United mimic Norwich with just the one loss. None of these teams are in bad form so the remaining fixtures may prove the difference between the sides.

We will have a look into the remaining eleven games of the season and see who looks to be in pole position to take top spot come May.

Norwich

Norwich currently sit top and are good value for it too. They are the league’s top scorers and to help matters their star striker Teemu Pukki leads the goalscoring charts and you can see our top goal scorer predictions here. Three wins in their last three set Norwich up nicely for their upcoming games. With only one top six team to face before the end of the season, Norwich look to be in a strong position.

Fixtures for the Canaries are as follows:

Swansea (H), Hull (H), Rotherham (A), Middlesborough (A), QPR (H), Reading (H), Wigan (A), Sheffield Wed (H), Stoke (A), Blackburn (H), Aston Villa (A)

Middlesborough are the only real test in this group of fixtures, as the only side within the top six still to play. Leeds still have a trip to Bristol City and host Sheffield United so in this department, Norwich have the favourable fixtures. Sheffield United also have two of the top six to play. An away trip to Leeds and the visit from Bristol City prove more difficult that Norwich’s fixtures.

Norwich’s fixtures are not too difficult. if they keep up their strong form they could make light work of these games and storm into the Premier League. They can be found at 11/10 to win the league with Bet365 which looks good value and are 1/5 to be promoted, good news for Norwich fans!

Leeds United

Leeds are currently second in the league but could slip to third if Sheffield United win their game in hand. Leeds recent form is not as impressive as their close rivals but the quality they have shown through the season means they always have a chance.

Leeds remaining fixtures are:

Bristol City (A), Reading (A), Sheffield United (H), Millwall (H), Birmingham (A), Preston (A), Sheffield Wednesday (H), Wigan (H), Brentford (A), Aston Villa (H) and Ipswich (A).

Leeds have two of the top six still to play, with their next game being one, a trip to Bristol City. They do host Sheffield United but the fact its in front of home fans makes this test a little easier. Leeds have three of the bottom five in their remaining fixtures. This can prove difficult as these teams are fighting for survival, but again they are within the five worst teams in the league so should be games they win. In comparison, Norwich only have one of the bottom five to play and Sheffield United have two of the same group.

Leeds are 15/8 to win the league outright with BetVictor and 4/11 to be promoted if you fancy any of these.

Sheffield United

Sheffield United vs Blackburn Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Sheffield United’s form mimics Norwich with only one loss in the last nine. Good form like this will is important for momentum going into the last games of the season. United’s fixture list probably looks the most difficult out of the three, with two fixtures against top six teams and the Sheffield Derby up next on Monday evening.

Sheffield United remaining fixtures are:

Sheffield Wednesday (A), Rotherham (H), Brentford (H), Leeds (A), Bristol City (H), Preston (A), Birmingham (A), Millwall (H), Nottingham Forest (H), Hull (A), Ipswich (H) and Stoke (A)

Sheffield United fixture list looks more difficult than the two previously mentioned. An away trip to Leeds has been highlighted as a big test and Bristol City in the following fixture is a tough run. The rest of their fixtures look tough too. Two of the bottom five that are fighting for their lives and difficult fixtures like Stoke and Birmingham away make this look a tricky task for Sheffield United.

These fixtures make it tricky for the Blades to push into the top two but if you fancy them to do so, they are at 8/15 to be promoted or 3/1 to win the league outright.

The Verdict

Having looked at the fixtures, Leeds and Norwich look to have the favourable sets and should push on to seal promotion. Norwich only have Middlesborough as the main test left this season and in comparison, Sheffield United have to travel to Leeds, Birmingham and Preston, tricky games. Leeds are looking favourable to. As long as they get over the trip to Bristol City with three points the rest of their fixtures look good, with three of the bottom five still to play, they should seal promotion.
