Chelsea vs Liverpool Bet Builder Tips

Chelsea players celebrate scoring vs Leicester

Both Teams to Score

Liverpool have started their 2019/20 Premier League campaign in sizzling form, winning 100% of their first five fixtures of the new season.

The Reds’ attack has looked dazzling and devastating in equal measure, yet, their once solid backline seems to have some exploitable weaknesses after a tactical shift over the summer.

Liverpool have kept only one clean sheet in their seven competitive fixtures this term, and on Sunday they face a Chelsea side that look full of goals this season.

At the other end, Frank Lampard’s side have been leaking goals and chances by the bucketful however, and the Blues are still searching for their first clean sheet of the season having shipped an average of two goals per game since early August.

Both Liverpool and Chelsea scored in their European Super Cup meeting earlier in the season, and with both defences looking decidedly breachable, we expect the same outcome when they go toe-to-toe again on Sunday.

We publish new both teams to score betting tips with fresh fixtures and matches to choose from every day on our dedicated BTTS page. Make sure to check it out!

Sadio Mane to score anytime

Liverpool’s Sadio Mane is fast becoming the Reds’ chief match-winner, and last season’s joint Golden Boot winning attacker has already hit six goals in just seven appearances in 2019/20.

Two of the Senegalese international’s efforts were registered in Liverpool’s 2-2 European Super Cup tie with Chelsea in August, bringing the 27-year old’s haul against the Blues to three goals in his last two appearances against them.

We think Mane’s red-hot scoring streak coupled with his impressive recent record against Chelsea makes him an outstanding candidate in the anytime goalscorer market for Sunday.

Under 10 corners

In the Premier League so far this season, only Manchester City (2.2) have conceded fewer corners on average per game than Liverpool (3.6).

However, while Liverpool rank low in the corner concession stakes, Chelsea are the kings of low overall corner counts this season.

Only Manchester United (8.8) have seen fewer overall corners awarded to both teams combined in their Premier League games than Chelsea (9) so far this term.

In addition, the last two encounters between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge averaged just six corners per 90 minutes, and the numbers suggest that we should expect a similarly low corner count when the teams renew acquaintances on Sunday.

Under 4 cards

Under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool have become one of the hardest-working, manically pressing teams in the Premier League.

However, the Reds have also learned to play with a controlled aggression, and Liverpool were statically the best-behaved team in the Premier League last season, picking up just 37 yellow cards in total over the course of the campaign.

This season, Liverpool have picked up where they left off, and again, the numbers show that the Reds have picked up fewer cautions (2) than any other team in the division.

The bookings figures from Chelsea’s recent games against Liverpool also hint that a low count-count is likely on Sunday. Under 4 cards were brandished in 4 of the last 6 meetings between the teams, and their last three contests averaged just 1.66 cards per 90 minutes.

Match Result: Liverpool

Liverpool have been irresistible in the Premier League for a sustained period now, and this weekend they will be gunning for their 15th successive victory in the top-flight.

The Reds suffered a little wobble in a mid-week Champions League defeat to a talented Napoli side in Italy, though the setback should also help to refocus their players ahead of a tough run of games.

Our analysts have backed Liverpool to get straight back into the winning groove against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge – and for good reason.

The Blues have won only one of their last nine Premier League meetings with Liverpool (D5 L3), and Chelsea’s defence looks ill-equipped to deal with their visitor’s rearguard routing forward line.
