Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament Tips
France
Kylian Mbappe
France are our best bet to win the Euros and if they do go all the way then it may well be down largely to the efforts of Kylian Mbappe. The Real Madrid-bound forward helped Les Bleus win the World Cup in 2018 and starred as they reached the final in 2022, winning the golden boot award. Mbappe became just the second player in history to score a hat-trick in the World Cup final and became the first to do so for a losing team, a similar output in Germany would almost certainly see him take the Player of the Tournament honour if France emerge triumphant.
Antoine Griezmann
Mbappe isn’t the only superstar in the French team and veteran Antoine Griezmann is an option as a bit of an outsider. Griezmann is the only player to win this award having not won the tournament, picking up the honour in 2016 when France lost in the final to Portugal. Eight years later, he remains a key figure in Didier Deschamps’ squad and a few big performances could see him become the first two-time winner.
Portugal
Bernardo Silva
Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes are both shorter prices than Portugal team-mate Bernardo Silva for the Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament award. However, the Man City man has a massive influence on the way his side approach the game and if they do triumph in Germany then he is likely to have played a key role. At 66/1 Silva is definitely an outside pick but he is perhaps overpriced here given how important he is to the Selecao das Quinas.
Denmark
Christian Eriksen
Denmark are our 40/1 outsiders tip for Euro 2024 glory and if they are to emulate the success of their 1992 squad they need their star players to perform. Christian Eriksen is very much the main man in the Danish side and if you do think the Scandinavian nation are capable of going all the way then the 100/1 on Eriksen to take the top individual honour should also be of interest.
