Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

Villarreal vs Atletico Madrid – Villarreal to win 19/10 with bet365

Villarreal have jumped into La Liga’s top half after winning four straight games. The Yellow Submarine are on the rise, while Atletico are dropping like a stone.

Diego Simeone’s side have won three of their last 11 games and they’ve been beaten in four of their last five on the road. Villarreal have put together a three-game winning streak at home and they are fantastic value to extend that against an out-of-sorts Atleti.

Sunderland to beat Blackburn – 11/10 with bet365

Sunderland snapped their seven-game winless streak with a confidence-boosting 2-0 win away to Cardiff on Saturday and they can follow up with victory over Blackburn on Monday.

The international break appeared to do the world of good for the Black Cats, who racked up 18 shots away to the Bluebirds and looked confident going forwards.

Monday’s opponents Blackburn, meanwhile, are without a win in ten games in all competitions following Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Ipswich and they may struggle to pick themselves up after that energy-sapping defeat.

Henry Hardwicke

Bristol City to beat Plymouth – 13/8 with bet365

Bristol City put a major dent in Leicester’s title hopes when beating the Foxes 1-0 on Friday, and while the Robins did give up a couple of glaring opportunities, they caused Enzo Maresca’s men major problems and were the better side in the first half.

Plymouth looked dejected when surrendering a 1-0 lead and losing 2-1 at Norwich last time out and the Pilgrims have won only one of their last ten Championship matches. Bristol City look a good value bet to take three points at Home Park.

Tom Hill

Preston to beat Birmingham – 19/10 with bet365

Preston have the Championship playoffs in their sights, and they should have no trouble overcoming troubled Birmingham on Monday.

The Blues surrendered a 1-0 lead against QPR on Friday to lose 2-1, meaning they have now lost four on the spin and are without a win in seven in the Championship.

The quickfire doubleheader will not give Gary Rowett much time to work with his players, and they are only outside the bottom three on goal difference, while Preston are dreaming of a top-six spot.

The Lilywhites have only lost one of their previous 10 in the second tier, while they have won three on the spin and are unbeaten in four away games.

Crewe v Forest Green – One or both teams not to score – 10/11 with bet365

Crewe are still on course for the League Two playoffs despite Friday’s 0-0 draw at Gillingham extending their lean run to one win in six matches.

Three of their last four home victories were by a 1-0 scoreline and they also played out a goalless stalemate against Harrogate in February so backing one or both teams not to score looks a good bet when Alex host Forest Green.

The visitors are bottom of the table after losing their last three games to nil against Sutton, Doncaster and Stockport and both teams have scored in only one of their last nine league fixtures.

Ian Wilkerson

MK Dons to beat Notts County – 29/20 with bet365

Stockport, Mansfield and Wrexham have been battling it out for the League Two promotion places for most of the season, but MK Dons could potentially gatecrash the party and they could boost their credentials when they head to Notts County on Monday.

Most of the Dons’ best results have admittedly come on their own patch and they were beaten 5-0 at Stockport the last time they were on their travels, but they won at Mansfield at the beginning of March, which was their seventh away success of the campaign.

The Magpies, meanwhile, have won just two of 15 league games since the turn of the year and they have conceded 14 goals in their last five matches at Meadow Lane, all of which have ended in defeat, so it is a big ask for them to finally find some strong form against one of the division’s best teams.
