2.30 Albany Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet: Believing

Made a promising debut when second to Mawj at Newmarket and followed that with a comfortable victory at Wolverhampton last time when she overcame a slow start and a wide trip. She still looked green and remains open to improvement for top trainer George Boughey.

3.05 Commonwealth Cup

Experts’ Best Bet: Ehraz

Ehraz was a huge eyecatcher when storming home to finish a short-head behind Tiber Flow at Newbury last time and is fancied to reverse those places now he is switched to this stiffer track. He is a course-and-distance winner and quick ground suits, so conditions look ideal.

3.40 Duke of Edinburgh Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet: Ever Present

Jessica Harrington got on the scoreboard with Magical Lagoon yesterday and it looks significant she is keen to let this lightly raced six-year-old compete off top weight in this red-hot handicap on his first start of the season. He is still improving and can cause an upset.

4.20 Coronation Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet: Tenebrism

It’s only just over six weeks since Tenebrism went off favourite to beat several of these rivals in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket. She disappointed there, but it was her reappearance and it’s worth giving her another chance to show last season’s top-class form with that behind her.

5.00 Sandringham Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet: Mashaaer

Has finished second on all four starts but one of those runner-up efforts came in the Listed Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket when she ran the final three furlongs in a quick time. She was below that form on easier ground at Bath last time, but can bounce back on faster going.

5.35 King Edward VII Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet: Ottoman Fleet

Improved significantly from his debut second at Newbury when doing remarkably well to win the Listed Fairway Stakes at Newmarket last time, overcoming a bad stumble at the start. The step up to 1m4f looks certain to suit this son of Sea The Stars and he can improve again.

6.10 Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet:: Ladies Church

Johnny Murtagh has quickly become a man to follow at the big meetings and Ladies Church has a huge chance back in handicap company after finishing a close second behind Sacred Bridge in a Listed race at Cork last time. A reproduction of that form should be good enough.
