So gameweek 4 of approaching us, and by now I’m sure all the diehard players have sorted out their squad, and all those early season warriors will be thinking of dropping the ball and forgetting about it. Surely everyone has got rid of John Terry, and many will have rid themselves of Wayne Rooney after his ineffectual performances so far this season, only to see him bag a hat trick in midweek. We’ll take you through all the picks of the bunch for the coming fixtures.

Who to Bench

John Terry

We told you last week to get rid of the Chelsea defenders, and they proved against West Brom that you should have heeded that device. They conceded twice against a team normally lacking, and John Terry was sent off for a professional foul. Considering Terry and Ivanovic are two of the most expensive defenders around, I would strongly recommend trading them in if you haven’t already.

All Watford Players

Watford haven’t exactly been bad this season, but a dismally boring 0-0 draw against Southampton last week didn’t impress anybody. They face a gruelling trip to the Etihad on Saturday, the team that have scored 8 goals and conceded none in their first 3 matches. I can see it being a mauling for Watford, and I don’t see players at either end of the pitch getting much luck.

Adama Traore

After his impressive performance last weekend on his debut and the fact he faces Sunderland next, many of you will be thinking of adding him to your team. I wouldn’t recommend it just yet. He’s picked up a slight knock and is unlikely to feature for the full 90 minutes, and Aston Villa’s attacking play hasn’t looked particularly great so far this season. Give it a few weeks.

Dimitri Payet

Liverpool have been solid defensively so far this season, and I don’t see that changing too much when West Ham travel to Anfield. West Ham are missing 4 attacking players, and unless Payet runs the show himself then I can’t see West Ham getting too many goals. They play Newcastle at home next weekend though, so maybe just stick him on the bench for the weekend. After that they visit Man City, so you can probably take him out again there.

Who to Buy

Manchester City Players

They have kept 3 clean sheets in a row, and Vincent Kompany looks well and truly back to his best. The likes of Kolarov, Kompany, and Zabalete contribute to the attacking play regularly as well. Although don’t put Zabaleta in just yet, he’s injured for this week against Watford.

They play Watford on Saturday, and I players such as Nasri, Silva, Toure, Aguero, and Sterling wouldn’t surprise me if they got on the scoresheet. There are tons of options for goalscoring players in the City squad, and them playing Watford, Crystal Palace, and West Ham in the next 3 weeks could yield 3 clean sheets and a lot of goals.

Xherdan Shaqiri – Price: 7.0 Million

The newboy at Stoke impressed on his debut last week, contributing straight away with an assist for Diouf’s opener. He continued to make the Stoke fans excited with his fancy footwork and neat, accurate passing. This was his first match as well, and he’s likely to get even better as he gels with the team.

Nathan Redmond – Price: 5.6 Million

The Norwich midfielder is the 3rd highest scoring midfielder so far this season in Fantasy Premier League. He’s a snip at 5.6 million, and is likely to continue scoring and getting assists as Norwich’s key player. They play the disappointing Southampton this weekend, and then host Bournemouth next week.

Riyad Mahrez – Price: 6.0 Million

Mahrez continued his fantastic start to the season last week with yet another goal. He’s still a bargain at 6.0 million, and has matches against Bournemouth, Aston Villa, and Stoke coming up over the next few weeks. There is absolutely no reason to not have him in your team.

Marc Albrighton – Price: 5.1 Million

His excellent start to the season is being somewhat overshadowed by Riyad Mahrez. He is actually the 4th highest scoring midfielder so far, and has the same promising fixtures coming up as Mahrez. Team these players up and you have an incredibly cheap but effective midfield.

Callum Wilson – Price: 5.5 Million

His hat trick against West Ham last weekend makes him the highest scoring striker this season with 21 points. Bournemouth had struggled to find their net in the opening 2 weekends, but now they have broken the duck they can start to show the attacking performances we saw from them last season. Callum Wilson will be a key part of this, so put him in as a bargain striker, especially as he face Leicester, Norwich, and Sunderland in the next 3 gameweeks.
